NÅGRA ORD FRÅN CARLO RIVA
When I inherited the yard from my father Serafino in the late 1940:s, I never thought that my boats would meet with such fame and sucess .Despite the fact that they where made from carefully selected, seasoned mahogany and boasted stainless chrome, perfect instrumentation, original fabrics, and run in engines, I could never have imagined they would live on until the start of the new Millenium. Over a thousand beautifully preserved Riva boats are still on the waterall over the world. It is to their proud owners that I owe my gratitude, affection, and respec , for having cared so lovingly for the fruits of the labours of myself and my team of skilled craftsmen and technicians at the Cantieri di Sarnico. I think I can say that Riva owners are fascinated by the soul of my motorboats. Their non-ephemeral beauty lirs in what cannot be seen. It lies in the construction technique criteria which have earned me the unconditional trust of pleasure boaters the world over, and great words of praise for my hulls from the experts. Seeing them now, half a century on, as they roar across the water with their inmistakable lines, is an indescribable sensation. It calls to mind a whole host of memories, stories, facts, and people. May you enjoy the same prosperity and work that I did in my time when planning and productiviy walked hand in hand, bringing security, stability and moral satisfaction, as well as acting as a creative spur to achieving greater, more ambitious goals. |
